Marielle Weddegjerde Art Psychotherapist

How I work
As a therapist, I am attentive to how the body carries experience, and to how relationships take shape within the therapeutic space.
Art-making in sessions is not about skill but about slowing down and opening up to the senses through touch, movement, colour, texture and presence.
This creates a space where emotions, sensations and impulses can be approached with curiosity, allowing new meanings, connections and possibilities to emerge.
I trained in Expressive Arts Therapy in Norway (PGDip) and as an Art Psychotherapist in the UK (MA). I also hold a CPCAB-accredited diploma in art therapy supervision. I have worked for more than ten years in adult mental health services and, more recently, with children and adolescents in school settings.
My work is grounded in a relational and trauma-informed approach, placing great importance on safety, collaboration and on working at a pace that feels right for you.
In addition to my therapeutic work, I offer clinical supervision to qualified art therapists and trainees. My supervision practice draws on creative processes as a way of accessing deeper layers of experience, supporting therapists to explore their clinical work, the contexts in which it takes place, and their responses to it beyond purely verbal reflection.
